ARTIST
mikimai
A songwriter based in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, and a representative artist of Soundrest.
After encountering band music and club music in their teens and becoming passionate about music, they enrolled in the Osaka School of Music in 2005. While a student, they appeared in the bone marrow transplant campaign musical "Door to Tomorrow" (Ashita e no Tobira), which led them to register as a donor and eventually donate after graduation.
Having suffered from respiratory illness since childhood, they did not originally intend to become a singer. However, during their entrance interview, they were encouraged to choose a debut-oriented department, leading them to select the Singer-Songwriter course, which sparked their creative activities such as lyric writing and music production.
After graduation, they did not enter the music industry directly, instead developing a unique career as an event MC, advertising model, and streamer.
Starting in 2025, they resumed music production by refining unreleased works created during their school years. They utilize AI technology in the process of expression and arrangement, including vocal selection based on the worldview of the lyrics, track making, and art direction. Their production style is not bound by music genre or gender, and their lyrics are characterized by strong messaging.
Soundrest is a private label for mikimai and a creative studio that produces music, images, videos, and more.
We are also passionate about advanced creative work where humanity and AI co-create.
Please feel free to contact us regarding music provision, collaborations, or other business inquiries.

We promote a healthy society where people can sleep with hope and wake up with motivation.
Music transcends physical distance and physical disabilities, healing the mind and body and connecting to vitality for tomorrow.
In Japan, it is said that words have souls.
We deliver the energy of "healing and support" through music.
Co-creation between Humans and AI
At Soundrest, we pour our hearts into every piece we create.
We view AI as a partner in co-creating the future of humanity and utilize it as one of our latest technologies, but the core of our work remains the "uniquely human sentiment" born from the creator's own experiences and emotions.
We hope that our passion reaches many people through our work.
A Wish for Peace
Through its musical activities, Soundrest conveys a "wish for peace" to people.
Humanity has a history of repeating the justification of violence and attacking others, but our lives were not originally given for violence or destruction.
We believe that our hands are meant to serve society and to shape the future.
